Authorities Seek Community Help to Identify Brookside Porch Pirate: ‘I Was Surprised at the Boldness’

Authorities in Kansas City’s Brookside neighborhood are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a porch pirate, according to reports. The investigators are urging locals to come forward with any relevant information that could aid in the identification of the culprit.

A woman boldly steals packages from a porch in Brookside, and the entire incident is caught on camera.

On August 2nd, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department reached out to the public for assistance in identifying a porch pirate. The department made the announcement, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in solving the crime.

On July 29th, a woman was caught on Ring doorbell footage stealing valuable packages from a porch near Brookside. The footage shows her walking barefoot up the home’s walkway and looking directly at the camera at around 1:30 p.m.

According to law enforcement authorities, the perpetrator made off with three packages after leaving behind the first one due to its excessive weight. The suspect was seen departing in an older model silver Chevrolet pickup truck and has a unique neck tattoo.

Olivia Fisher, the homeowner, expressed to KCTV5 that it was difficult to watch how self-assured the thief appeared.

Fisher expressed his surprise at the brazenness of the act. According to him, the woman attempted to take one package, but it was too large, so she proceeded to take the remaining packages and left in the driveway. The truck was in plain sight, yet the woman didn’t seem to be bothered by it. Fisher noted that the theft was a quick grab-and-run situation.

In expressing her disappointment, Fisher shared that it’s disheartening to witness such events occur because she understands that she’s not the only one affected by them.

Fisher expressed her disappointment upon observing the youth of these individuals and the choices they have made. “It’s disheartening,” she remarked.

According to Fisher, although she loves the neighborhood and feels safe living there, there have been several recent property crimes in the area.

According to Fisher, it’s important to stay alert as there may be opportunistic individuals in the vicinity. She suggests being extra careful and taking precautionary measures such as locking doors and car doors to ensure safety. It’s essential to be hyper-vigilant and exercise caution, especially in comparison to other areas where such measures may not be necessary.

If you possess any details regarding the woman’s identity or the incident that took place, kindly report it to the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
