Rochester, N.Y. — Police are pursuing new leads in a fatal Thanksgiving hit-and-run in the South Wedge neighborhood.
The victim, 45-year-old Akili Nix of Rochester, was discovered lying in the middle of Gregory Street around 3 a.m. Thursday. According to authorities, he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Nix later succumbed to his injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Thanks to assistance from the public, investigators identified the vehicle involved as a dark-colored 2015 Nissan Altima. Police stated it’s possible the driver might not have realized they hit someone.
No suspects have been apprehended at this time.
