Authorities Identify Suspect Involved in Double Shooting Incident in Bricktown Over the Weekend

A video captured by a bystander helped the Oklahoma City Police in identifying the alleged shooter over the weekend.

In the early hours of Sunday, two women fell victim to a shooting incident in Bricktown. The suspect responsible for the attack managed to escape the scene and is currently at large. Despite this, law enforcement authorities have successfully identified the alleged shooter and are in the process of obtaining a warrant for her arrest.

According to police, two individuals were shot in their legs and subsequently transported to OU Medical Center for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening.

Captain Tommy Ackerman of the Oklahoma City Police Department noted that Bricktown sees a surge in large crowds when the bars close at 2 a.m.

Gun violence erupted in a parking lot at the intersection of East Sheridan Avenue and Joe Carter Avenue in Bricktown over the weekend, leaving two women injured.

As the officers arrived at the scene, they were informed that the victims had just left one of the clubs in Bricktown. It was in the parking lot where a confrontation had erupted between them and another woman, leading to a fight.

Ackerman stated that during the incident, a woman retrieved a firearm from her clothing and discharged two rounds.

According to the police, a significant number of people were present at the scene, observing the altercation, and fortunately, one of the bystanders managed to capture a video of the alleged shooter. This concerned individual promptly shared the footage with the authorities. Additionally, the police discovered that the victims may have had some prior acquaintance with the suspect.

Ackerman revealed that the investigators successfully obtained the name of the suspect involved in the shooting.

According to Ackerman, incidents like the shooting necessitate additional patrols in Bricktown during the weekends. Saturday nights are particularly busy for the police force. The augmented manpower enables law enforcement to proactively prevent the occurrence of violence or promptly respond to any incidents that may arise.

The police have not disclosed the exact cause of the fight. However, based on statements provided at the scene, it appears that the altercation was a result of an incident that occurred before the weekend.
