Authorities continue to search for child reportedly exchanged by mother in drug transaction in 2022: Reports

According to reports, police in Oklahoma are currently conducting a search for a child who went missing three years ago. The disappearance occurred after the child’s mother allegedly handed her over to a man who was selling drugs.

The Moore Police Department has been conducting an investigation into the disappearance of London Kerr, who was reported missing when she was just 2 years old. Presently, the child would be 5 years old.

In October, local news reported that Ashley Rowland, identified as the mother, was arrested for child desertion in connection to this case. She was accused of giving Kerr to a man during a drug exchange.

According to court records cited by KOKH and KOCO-TV, the state Department of Health reached out to Rowland in April 2023 after they were unable to locate the baby during a pickup order.

According to reports, Rowland originally claimed that the baby was with her father in Georgia. However, it was later discovered that her story was false.

During the investigation, she reportedly admitted that she had handed her over to a man named Carlos, whom she had purchased methamphetamine from in 2022. According to the reports, this was also the last time she had laid eyes on Kerr.

According to her, Carlos asserted that he was heading to Mexico during that period.

Search for London Kerr: Police look for information related to the child’s whereabouts

Moore police have been actively searching for clues in order to track Kerr down.

The Moore Police and Detectives have been conducting extensive searches of various properties, storage units, and electronic devices following Rowland’s arrest. Their objective is to locate any evidence related to London’s birth certificates, social security information, clothing, toys, or any other items that could potentially help identify her or provide clues about her current location. This information was shared by the department in a press release.

The department has sought the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to aid them in this case, as their own efforts have yielded only photographs of her.

“The Moore Police Department has made every possible effort to find London within our jurisdiction and intends to press further charges in connection with the disappearance of London Kerr,” explained the department.

According to a spokesperson from USA TODAY, Kerr has been included in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as of Wednesday.

Rowland has been released from jail, as per the reports.
