U.S. Marshals apprehended an inmate on Tuesday morning who had escaped from a correctional housing facility in North Philadelphia a little more than a week before.
Keith Freeman, 30, was taken back into custody after authorities surrounded a property on Nicholas Street near 24th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in North Philadelphia.
Investigators found Freeman hiding beneath a pile of clothes in the living room of the house and returned him to custody without incident.
Freeman escaped from the Kintock Group on Luzerne Street between Whitaker Avenue and C Street on February 23 after allegedly getting into a fight with a staff member and then jumping two fences. He was serving a 96-month sentence for a firearms charge when he escaped.
Following his apprehension on March 4, officials announced that Freeman will now serve the remainder of his term at the Federal Detention Center in Center City.
