Arrests made and stolen heavy equipment recovered following theft incident

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has successfully apprehended three individuals and managed to retrieve a substantial amount of heavy equipment that was stolen in September.

The Jefferson County Criminal Investigation Division, in collaboration with the Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, has conducted investigations into two major theft cases this month. The Jefferson County Patrol and Jefferson County Warrant Division provided assistance during these investigations.

On September 1, the authorities reported the first case on Tram Road. This incident resulted in the successful recovery of approximately $50,000 worth of stolen items. Among the recovered items were a mini excavator, a tractor, a trailer, a four wheeler, and a dirt bike.

Three suspects have been apprehended and their identities have been revealed by investigators. Among them are Christopher Buckner, aged 35, from Beaumont; Arne Koenig, aged 50, from Vidor; and Richard Robb, aged 39, also from Beaumont. Buckner and Koenig have been charged with Burglary of a Building, while Robb faces charges of Theft of Property valued between $2,500 and $30,000.

On September 13, another case was reported, leading to the successful recovery of approximately $100,000 worth of stolen items. These included two mini excavators, a skid steer, and two trailers. The authorities have identified the suspects involved, and charges are currently pending.

The investigations into these incidents are still in progress, and there is a possibility of further charges being brought.
