Arkansas, Louisiana And Mississippi Face Severe Weather Risk Through Saturday

Severe storms are likely to hit Mississippi, northeast Louisiana, and southeast Arkansas later this week, bringing tornadoes, severe winds, and huge hail. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson advises that hazardous weather is expected from Friday to Saturday.

According to the NWS, an elevated danger level has been issued for parts of the region, particularly eastern Mississippi, where the storm threat is greatest on Saturday. A modest risk extends to a larger area, including western and central Mississippi, where storms could potentially cause significant damage.

Residents in affected areas should be prepared for tornadoes, power disruptions, and hazardous travel conditions. Officials recommend remaining weather aware and having several means to receive warnings. As the system approaches, the forecast will likely be updated and refined.
