If you’re considering adopting a new furry friend, today might just be the perfect day to do so.
On Wednesday, the Animal Care Centers of NYC are teaming up with Royal Canin Pet Food to celebrate New York City’s Adopt-A-Dog Day. As a part of this celebration, adoption fees for dogs at their shelters will be waived. Additionally, new pet parents will receive a free one-month supply of dog food to help make the transition to their new furry family member smoother.
For nearly three decades, the Animal Care Centers of NYC has been devoted to putting an end to animal homelessness throughout the five boroughs. However, the shelter organizers have recently been urging for more individuals to adopt or foster dogs. The shelter is currently dealing with a high volume of canines and is struggling to accommodate them all. According to a spokesperson for ACC, there are approximately 350 dogs under their care, but they have space for only 185. This highlights the urgent need for more individuals to provide homes for these furry companions.
If you’re looking for a furry companion to love and care for, the Animal Care Centers of NYC app or website at nycacc.org can help you find your perfect match.
