The Trump administration revealed on Thursday a nationwide operation that resulted in the detention of many alleged MS-13 gang members, including one arrested in San Francisco the day earlier.
On Wednesday afternoon, the bureau’s San Francisco branch issued information about the arrest of the Salvadoran national.
According to the FBI, Santos Rodriguez-Aleman is an alleged MS-13 gang member with a criminal record that includes convictions in El Salvador for drug and gun trafficking as well as homicide.
According to the post, the FBI supported ICE officers from San Francisco in making the arrest.
The arrest was only one of many that occurred around the country. On Thursday, FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi joined Virginia law enforcement to announce the arrest of an MS-13 gang leader.
“The task force is going to go everywhere it is needed across the united states to bring the form of justice and measured security and safety that our American citizens deserve,” Patel said
Bondi praised the early morning arrest of the accused gang leader from El Salvador, 24-year-old Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos, who was detained in northern Virginia on an outstanding administrative immigration warrant, according to court documents. He was charged with illegal gun possession after agents discovered multiple guns during a search of his residence.
Bondi labeled the suspect as one of MS-13’s top three leaders in the United States, claiming that he was unlawfully present in the country.
