AL.com has reported that Agiye Hall, a former wide receiver for both the Texas Longhorns and Alabama, has pleaded no contest to first-degree felony drug trafficking charges. These charges originated from an incident in Florida that occurred in July of 2023.
According to the report, Hall was discovered to be in possession of 40.3 pounds of marijuana, divided into 31 vacuum-sealed bags, at the Orlando airport. This incident took place on December 4th of last year, and Hall was subsequently arrested.
After being arrested, Hall was granted a bond of $500,000. However, his lawyers filed a motion to decrease the bond amount.
After his plea, Hall’s trial that was originally set for Monday was canceled, and he received a sentence of 18 months of supervised probation.
On January 10, 2022, during the 2022 CFP college football national championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, Alabama wide receiver Agiye Hall (84) displayed a visible reaction as the time ran off the clock. Unfortunately, his team lost to Georgia with a final score of 33-18. The photo captured by Gary Cosby Jr. from USA TODAY Sports shows Hall’s disappointment in the outcome of the game.
Hall is required to attend counseling sessions every other week and must also continue his college education as part of his probation.
During his brief stint with the Crimson Tide in 2021, Hall managed to record four catches for 72 yards in seven games. However, his time with the team was cut short after former Alabama coach Nick Saban suspended him for a team rules violation, leading him to enter the portal.
In 2022, Hall’s time with Texas was short-lived as he was arrested and booked into a Travis County Jail on criminal mischief charges in August of that year. The Longhorns suspended him indefinitely following his appearance in three games, during which he recorded just one catch for seven yards.
Multiple reports suggest that he has not joined the UCF team, despite being scheduled to walk on this season.
