A Tragedy in Texas: Buc-ee’s Burns as Smoke Billows into the Sky

Texas residents and visitors alike have come to love Buc-ee’s as a must-visit destination. Its popularity has even led to expansion beyond state borders, with locations now found in other states. It’s not surprising that this Texas staple has become a beloved experience that people want to share with others.

Buc-ee’s first originated in Clute, Texas, but it was the travel center constructed in Luling, Texas, in 2003 that gained immense popularity. Luling is located approximately an hour’s drive northeast from San Antonio and an hour’s drive south from Austin, making it a preferred destination for Buc-ee’s enthusiasts in the area.

The original Buc-ee’s caught on fire on July 2, 2024.

Don’t worry, even though it may come as a shock, the old Buc-ee’s was the site of a recent fire. However, it’s important to note that the building was in the process of being torn down when the fire occurred.

Upon spotting smoke and a Buc-ee’s sign, a devoted fan of the beloved gas station chain known as Buc-ee’s would instinctively react.

Noooooooo! Not my Buc-ee’s.

People are truly passionate about Buc-ee’s.

Watching the smoke and damage to what was once the center of cherished memories is heart-wrenching, even though the original location was already scheduled to be torn down.

On June 10, 2024, Buc-ee’s unveiled its largest location yet in Luling, Texas at 10070 I-10. This new Buc-ee’s is a sight to behold.

The original spot had brought immense happiness and joy to countless individuals. It is disheartening that the location will soon be completely gone. However, the memories of the place will always remain, providing solace to those who hold it dear.

The highly anticipated arrival of Buc-ee’s in Amarillo, Texas is on the horizon. This will mark the first Buc-ee’s location in the Texas Panhandle, much to the excitement of locals and travelers alike.

The locals can hardly contain their excitement over the opening of this delightful beaver right in their own town. No longer will they need to make the long drive to DFW, Central Texas, or South Texas to enjoy its charm. The eagerly anticipated opening is slated for February 2025, but there is a chance it may open even sooner.
