Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston arrested a 39-year-old Dominican national accused of fentanyl trafficking in Providence who was illegally present. ERO Boston’s Providence field office deportation agent in Cranston arrested Yohan Perez-Chala on July 15.
Perez-Chala says he arrived in the United States unidentified on an unidentified date without inspection anywhere in 2023.
“Yohan Perez-Chala allegedly trafficked poison throughout our Rhode Island communities and illegally entered this country,” stated Todd M. Lyons, Director of ERO Boston Field Office. “We will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing serious noncitizen offenders from New England.” ERO Boston cannot allow non-citizen criminals to operate unrestricted in our neighborhoods.
On an unknown day and at an unknown location, Perez-Chala illegally entered the country without inspection, admission, or parole by a U.S. immigration official.
The Providence Police detained Perez-Chala on May 30 for fentanyl trafficking offenses.
On June 4, ERO Boston filed an immigration detainee case against Perez-Chala with the Adult Correctional Institute of Rhode Island, which is located in Cranston.
The Rhode Island Department of Corrections released Perez-Chala from jail on July 15, disregarding the ICE detainee.
On July 15, deportation officers from ERO Boston’s Providence Field Office in Cranston arrested Yohan Perez-Chala.
