The Tri-State is braced for widespread damaging winds, powerful tornadoes, and massive hail overnight Friday into early Saturday, with another round of severe storms expected Saturday afternoon and evening. The arrival of the first line of storms is still expected around midnight to 3 a.m. Storms are expected to intensify throughout the afternoon and evening on Saturday. If storms pass over the same area (mostly southwest Indiana and western Kentucky), we may experience flash flooding. By late Saturday night, all storms should have cleared the Tri-State area. It will be quite windy until Saturday, with gusts of 40-50 mph probable. Temperatures will reach near-record highs of 82 on Friday and 82 again on Saturday. After the storms have passed, temperatures will drop into the lower 50s with partly sunny skies on Sunday. We will warm up again next week, with highs returning to the 70s by Tuesday. More showers and thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday.
