Julia Szebehely, 63, faces ten counts of cruelty to non-livestock animals and one count of cruelty to livestock animals. She has been granted a bond of $16,500.
Deputies discovered the property and home in a state of utter neglect and disrepair. Additionally, they came across an emaciated horse at the rear of the premises.
During a subsequent investigation on September 17th, a thorough examination was conducted on the property, revealing a total of 42 animal carcasses.
According to the sheriff’s office, a total of 60 deceased animals were discovered and removed from the property during the investigation. The majority of these animals were found inside locked kennels, crates, and traps.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office received a notification and decided to press charges against Szebehely.
The Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division arrested her, and she is currently released on bond.
