On Monday, two men from Bronx were sentenced for their involvement in a shooting incident that took place in East Harlem in 2021. The incident resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man.
The court has sentenced Tom Ruiz, who is 28 years old, to 32 years to life imprisonment. Similarly, Jonathan Tolentino, aged 23, was given a sentence of 25 years to life imprisonment.
Ruiz and Tolentino came up with a scheme to entice Michael Monclus to a stairwell that had no cameras with the intention of robbing him, according to authorities.
On May 17, they convicted both men of murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
