A man, aged 22, has been taken into custody by the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) for reportedly attacking another man with a knife in a downtown parking garage on Wednesday morning. As per the FWPD, the suspect has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
According to Jeremy Webb, the Public Information Officer for FWPD, a call was made to report an armed robbery at the Civic parking garage located near the botanical conservatory at approximately 9:50 a.m.
According to Webb, an armed man attacked a man in his 60s by jumping on him with a knife.
According to Webb, 22-year-old Antonio Abul Husn was identified as the suspect, and several officers were dispatched to the location. One of the officers attempted to deploy a taser at Husn, but it missed the target, and Husn fled from the scene.
After pursuing him, law enforcement officials managed to tackle the perpetrator and apprehend him, according to reports.
According to Webb, the incident resulted in moderate injuries for the victim and a minor injury for an FWPD officer.
The website of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department stated that Husn is facing preliminary charges of attempted armed robbery, battery causing serious bodily harm, resisting law enforcement causing injury, and fleeing on foot from law enforcement.
