Authorities in Ohio are looking for a stolen 60-ton crane from a construction yard.
According to Columbus-area news station WSYX, deputies are searching for a crane that was reported stolen from a construction site Monday morning.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Kent Power Company discovered the crane theft about 8 a.m. on March 31.
The 2019 Kenworth 60-ton Long Boom National Crane, worth over $500,000, was parked on Parsons Avenue near the Eldorado Casinos at Scioto Downs.
Detectives from the sheriff’s office stated that the individual responsible for the theft would have needed “considerable experience and specialized knowledge of how to operate” the crane. Authorities suspect the theft took place over the weekend or overnight.
