A mother and daughter were arrested after allegedly providing false information to police following a minor crash at a Walmart, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4. The incident occurred at the Walmart on 26270 Northwest Freeway.
Deputy Newisar from the office of Constable Mark Herman went to the site where the at-fault driver had fled. Shortly later, a citizen contacted to say she had been involved in an accident and that the other car had fled the site. However, further investigation revealed that the caller was not involved in the crash. According to a department press statement, the motorist who struck the vehicle and fled without providing any information was actually her daughter.
The mother was charged with making a false police complaint, and the daughter with failing to stop and provide information. The Harris County Constable’s Precinct 4 praised the deputies for their efforts on the case.
