Police in D.C. say a 14-year-old girl was detained after stabbing another girl with scissors outside a homeless shelter in Northeast.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the incident occurred outside the Sasha Bruce Youthwork shelter in the 1000 block of Maryland Avenue at 11:15 p.m. on January 6.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they found two teenage girls engaged in a fight before it escalated. The police reported that one stabbed the other in the back with scissors.
Medics transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. Her condition is unknown as of Wednesday morning.
They accused the 14-year-old girl of assault with a dangerous weapon.
