According to the Friendswood Police Department, two individuals have been apprehended in relation to a wine theft that occurred at an H-E-B store in Friendswood, Texas.
The Katy Police Department successfully apprehended the suspects following a pursuit, resulting in the recovery of 498 stolen bottles of wine. The theft was reported to the Friendswood police on December 15, 2024, with the incident occurring on December 12, 2024. The store’s loss prevention team provided valuable video footage and information that assisted in identifying the suspects and connecting them to other thefts in the area.
After tracking the individuals to the Katy area, Friendswood officers shared suspect and vehicle information with the Katy Police Department. The Katy police located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it, which initiated a pursuit. Eventually, the vehicle was brought to a halt, and two suspects, Michael Diaz (42) and Juan Carlos Rosa-Torres (42), were arrested.
Diaz has been charged with theft, while Rosa-Torres faces charges of evading and theft. Both suspects are currently awaiting further charges at the Fort Bend County jail. Furthermore, the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has issued a theft warrant for Torres in relation to the Friendswood H-E-B incident. The Friendswood Police Department expressed their appreciation to the Katy Police Department for their collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication in resolving the case.
