HOUSTON, TX – Chrishaune Demarkell Murray, 33, was sentenced to 35 years in prison by a Harris County jury after being convicted of murdering 63-year-old Anthony Douglas in 2021. The conviction follows a shooting that took place on March 5, 2021, in the 11300 block of Sandpiper Drive.
As detailed in the Houston Police Department’s (HPD) initial press release, Murray and 24-year-old Deundrae Maurice Shoulders were both charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. The two men were accused of fatally shooting Douglas, whose body was found near a bayou embankment with gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.
Murray was apprehended on March 30, 2021.
