Following a fight at a house on Highway 16 east of Ocobla, police arrested and charged four women with assault.
According to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark, Marion Grier-Stuart, 30, of 10070 Road 1351, was arrested and charged with burglary, trespassing, and three counts of simple assault.
According to Clark, Kameron Joiner, 24, of 10503 Road 383; Natalee Grace Vaughn, 19, of 12621 Highway 16 East; and Elizabeth Joiner, 42, of 12621 Highway 16 East, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Clark said the allegations arise from an incident that occurred on Sunday, March 9, about 3:50 a.m., when Grier-Stuart allegedly broke into Elizabeth Joiner’s home in pursuit of her ex-boyfriend, Noah Massey.
Grier-Stuart allegedly kicked in a door and tried to drive away in Massey’s pickup vehicle before becoming stranded in the yard.
“She said she was trying to retrieve her phone charger from his truck,” Clark told me.
Elizabeth Joiner, her daughter Kameron Joiner, and Natalee Vaughn allegedly harassed Grier-Stuart when she went back inside the house.
A battle erupted when the three ladies attempted to convince Grier-Stuart to leave the property, Clark said.
When Neshoba County Sheriff deputies arrived, the Joiner women and Vaughn had Grier-Stuart restrained and pushed down in the driveway.
Grier-Stuart was taken to Neshoba General by EMS and then transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Clark said Grier-Stuart sustained serious face injuries, including a broken nose and a brain bleed.
He stated that Elizabeth Joiner had scratches between her eyes and bite marks on her forearm.
Investigators made an initial report at the scene and interviewed each of the four women individually on March 10, 11, and 12.
However, Clark stated that the interviews resulted in “split narratives” and “a lot of muddy water.”
“We believe a lot of alcohol was involved on both sides,” Clark informed the crowd.
On March 12, Grier-Stuart filed aggravated assault charges against Elizabeth Joiner, Kameron Joiner, and Vaughn. On the same day, The Joiners and Vaughn filed aggravated assault charges against Grier-Stuart.
“The incident was documented and due to split narratives,” Clark confirmed. “We determined that each individual would file appropriate charges in Justice Court.”
Grier-Stuart and Vaughn surrendered themselves to the Sheriff’s Office on March 13 and were released later that day after posting bond.
Elizabeth Joiner handed herself in on March 14 and was released after posting a bond.
Clark stated that the warrant for Kameron Joiner was first misplaced, and she could not be processed until March 17.
Clark stated that they have shared their report with the District Attorney, who will present the charges to the next Neshoba County Grand Jury.
“The Neshoba County grand jury will hear testimony and decide which felonies have enough merit for an indictment,” Clark said.
