2-year-old migrant girl found at the border tells authorities she has come to the US by herself in search of her parents

A heart-wrenching symbol of the Biden administration’s failure to protect the most vulnerable of asylum-seekers emerged when a 2-year-old migrant girl was discovered at the US border on Sunday. Clutching a piece of paper with only a first name and phone number, this young girl epitomizes the administration’s abject failure in ensuring the safety and well-being of those seeking asylum.

A group of more than 200 illegal migrants, including 60 unaccompanied minors, were detained by authorities in Maverick County, Texas. Among them was a child from El Salvador, dressed in a vibrant pink jacket.

Pols in sanctuary city New York and beyond were outraged by footage of the little girl, criticizing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the “border czar,” for their handling of the nation’s immigration debacle.

Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, a vocal critic of President Biden and Vice President Harris on immigration, expressed her outrage at the harrowing situation of a 2-year-old girl who was abandoned by her parents and left vulnerable to the ruthless threats of criminal human traffickers. She emphasized the disregard these traffickers have for human life, highlighting the unspeakable nature of the incident.

According to her statement, the Biden-Harris administration is putting vulnerable children at risk by choosing not to enforce the law. She also mentioned the alarming number of migrant kids that the administration has lost track of since they assumed office.

New York City Councilman Robert Holden (D-Queens) expressed his fury when he viewed the video of the young girl.

“It’s absolutely heartbreaking. As a resident of the Big Apple, I can’t help but feel enraged by this situation. I have a 2-year-old grandson and a 5-year-old granddaughter, and the thought of a child going through such suffering is unimaginable. Our city has been dealing with the migrant crisis for years, and it’s a constant struggle.”

Holden emphasized the need to secure the border as a solution to the current situation, stating that it is unimaginable for any reasonable person to support such circumstances. He further highlighted the unfortunate reality that the children are the ones suffering the most in this situation.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has recently shared a video of an interview conducted with a young child who claimed to be traveling alone. The interview consisted of a series of questions asked to the child.

The child was asked by a police officer about her destination, to which she responded on camera, “I’m going with my mom and dad.”

When asked about the whereabouts of her parents, she simply replied, “They are in the United States.”

According to the latest data from Customs and Border Protection, the harrowing footage emerges as more than 529,000 migrant children have entered the United States under the Biden administration.

Republicans in Congress question the Biden administration about the increasing presence of Tren De Aragua in their state.

In a surprising revelation from a report published in August, it was brought to light that the administration has failed to track over 320,000 migrant children who entered the country unaccompanied by their parents.

Cases like the little girl in pink are particularly tragic in Texas immigration authorities’ eyes because local officials often remain unaware of what happens to these children.

Texas DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez expressed deep concern regarding unaccompanied children crossing the border. He emphasized the need to understand the details of their journey and what happens to them afterwards.

In a thread on X, he shared the heartbreaking footage and described the girl’s story as a stark example of the dangerous journey these children undertake from their home country. It sheds light on how criminal organizations traffic these children across the southern border and deeper into the interior.

“It is absolutely unacceptable for any child to be exposed to dangerous criminal trafficking networks, regardless of political views.”

Lawmakers from Texas to New York criticized the Biden administration for the policies that led to the tragic story of the toddler.

“The heartbreaking tale of this young girl arriving at the border all by herself, left stranded, is a direct consequence of the perilous and lethal policies put forth by the Democrats over the past four years,” asserted Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), who further commented that President Biden, Vice President Harris, and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas all bear responsibility for this situation, yet they refuse to accept any accountability.”

“I am filled with a mix of anxiety and excitement as I prepare to collaborate with Tom Homan and the determined leaders chosen by President Trump to address the border issues. Our goal is to prevent such unfortunate incidents from occurring in our country again,” he expressed.

According to Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn), the recent footage is not surprising considering the White House’s lax border policies over the past four years.

In a heart-wrenching statement, she expressed her deep concern about the encouragement of such actions by our government. Regrettably, the policies implemented by the Biden administration have inadvertently created incentives for child trafficking, sex trafficking, and an alarming number of over 300,000 missing children.

According to Congressman Mike Lawler, a Republican representing the lower Hudson Valley, the sight of unaccompanied children crossing the border in search of their parents is both horrific and indicative of the current state of our broken immigration system.

Staten Island Borough President and former Congressman Vito Fossella expressed deep sorrow over the situation, stating, “This news is absolutely devastating.”

“This question arises: How does this situation come about? It is the result of a harmful policy. This is precisely why Donald Trump emerged victorious in the election,” the Republican party member expressed.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment from The Post on Monday.

President-elect Donald Trump’s border enforcer, Tom Homan, has made a firm commitment to intensify efforts against illegal crossings. In fact, he is scheduled to visit the Texas border alongside Governor Greg Abbott this week to personally inspect the situation.

Homan, who was the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement during Trump’s first term, recently announced his plan to utilize the US military for “non-enforcement” tasks to assist in the deportation of undocumented immigrants.
