Officers have charged a Maryland woman and are awaiting the extradition of a D.C. woman for their involvement in a series of coordinated retail thefts in Fairfax County.
Officers say three women entered a store in Merrifield’s 2900 block of District Avenue and stole products on July 19, 2024, at 5:51 p.m. The accused fled the scene in a car before police arrived.
Tanihya Allen, 20, of Maryland, and Destiny Howard, 20, of Washington, D.C., are two of the three suspects.
Officers then discovered that Allen had been arrested in Montgomery County on local charges, while Howard was detained at the Howard County Jail in Maryland.
