The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office announced that it has successfully recovered stolen Milwaukee tools worth $30,000. Following a search at two residential properties in Southaven, Mississippi, the authorities apprehended one individual in connection with the theft.
The Union Pacific Railroad Police, with assistance from the sheriff’s office’s criminal investigations division and SWAT team, carried out search warrants at the homes. This operation was part of a larger investigation into the theft of approximately $2 million worth of Milwaukee Tools from cargo containers. The ATF and FBI also provided their support during the operation.
DCSO has not disclosed any information regarding the train car heist or the specific locations where some of the tools were recovered; however, they have confirmed that Macon Herron has been apprehended.
Authorities stated that they additionally found a stolen Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a stolen Can-Am Renegade ATV, and a Glock pistol with a machine gun switch during the searches.
According to the sheriff’s office, Herron currently has an active arrest warrant in Crittenden County, Arkansas. In addition, he has a previous arrest record for the charge of receiving stolen property.
Herron is currently being charged with two felony counts for receiving stolen property and for possessing a machine gun conversion device, which is prohibited by law.
The investigation is still ongoing, and it is possible that there may be further charges or arrests in the case.
