Police are investigating after a teenager was shot outside a school in Brooklyn on Thursday morning.
Just before 8:30 a.m., someone shot the 17-year-old boy in the torso on Park Avenue, close to North Oxford Street in Fort Greene.
The New York Presbyterian Methodist Hospital received him.
The NYPD believes the shooter to be another 17-year-old.
There are several schools in the vicinity.
“While this incident took place off campus, this display of gun violence is deeply concerning. We are grateful to our dedicated school staff and NYPD School Safety Agents who supported this young person in need after they sought help at the school. Additional supports are being directed to the school, including school social workers, as well as support for the school community via Project Pivot,” a spokesperson for the Department of Education said.
